You will need a USB drive for this and the drive must have 1 partition or a network smb share on a file server and proper credentials to access.
Use gpart live to shrink partition down to smaller than destination drive if not already smaller.
Use clonezilla live to make image of partition to file on usb drive or network share.
Use clonezilla live to restore image to destination drive.
Use gpart live to expand to take whole drive.
Done. No cost. Just a little extra time.
